Jakarta School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JSPO) Jakarta I established by decree of the Indonesian Ministery of health No. HK.03.05/I/II/4/00141/2009 dated 16 January 2009.

Jakarta School of Prosthetics and Orthotics is the P&O department of Jakarta I Polytechnic of Health Science and it is established in co-operation between the Indonesian Ministry of Health, The Nippon Foundation of Japan, and The Cambodia Trust

Prosthetics and Orthotics is a small profession in South East Asia and thus have a good international network between P&O schools (Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan dan Kobe Jepang) and experts for organize seminars and congresses for information exchange.

    People can experience total or partial loss of the limb or face an orthopaedic impairment for many reasons, due to accidents, combat injuries, birth defects and disease.

    Health care workers who specialise in prosthetics and orthotics (P&O) help these. Allow patients regain their mobility by fitting them with artificial limbs (prosthetics) and orthopaedic braces (orthoses).

    Career

    After graduation you will be one of the pioneers in P&O with many possibilities in the future.

    It is Possible to make career possibilities in P&O training; in designing, making, fitting, modifying, repairing and maintaining P&O devices in hospitals or rehabilitation centres you can work for research, business or entepreneurship.

    The P&O field is still developing in Indonesia and there are plenty of changes for good interesting career and future.

    P&Os work in clinical teams with medical doctors, physio therapist, nurses, etc. P&Os are intregrated and essential part of that team work.

    School locates near the Fatmawati Hospital.

    Opportunity

    After passing the final ISPO exam at the end of the training the students will get SST (Sarjana Keahlian Terapan) degree in P&O, also the international ISPO Cat II P&O certificate which allows to work aboard.

    School has special facilities for P&O training, machinery, tools, equipment, internet, library, room for HMJ.

    Curriculum based on national curriculum Curnas 2003 and follows international guidelines for P&O training and services. Which was by WHO and ISPO, International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, 2005.

    Currently international experts from Japan, Cambodia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, UK and USA are teaching P&O science & technology.

    Teaching is in English gives you good skills and formation for further studies.

    DIV graduates (bachelor equivalent) covered during the 4 years, the future will be open Cat 1.
